Waste Management: Refuse & Recycling

2024 Waste Management Services Guide

Recycling Ordinance: Ord. #1842

Act 101 of 1998 requires commercial, municipal and institutional establishments located in Pennsylvania's mandated municipalities to recycle high-grade office paper, corrugated paper, aluminum and leaf waste. In addition, establishments must recycle any other materials included in the municipality's recycling ordinance or regulations, which includes glass, newsprint, and #1 and #2 plastics.

All residents in the City are required to have garbage service through Waste Management. Residents are required to recycle at curbside using the container/bin provided by the City of DuBois. Bins can be picked up at the Municipal Building between the hours of 8 AM - 4 PM Monday through Friday. A copy of the items to put in the bin is attached below:

Leaf Pick-Up: The annual leaf pick-up is generally in mid-November after most of the leaves are down. Residents will be notified by newspaper, radio, and the display sign in the park a week prior to pick up. Residents are to put untied bagged leaves at the curb on their regularly scheduled garbage night.

Curbside Recycling

Recyclables are picked up once a week on your regularly scheduled garbage night. Our recycling provider is Waste Management, Inc. Anything left in the bin after pickup is NOT RECYCLING and should be disposed of in your regular trash. You can pick up FREE recycling containers at the Municipal Building at 16 W. Scribner Avenue, DuBois, PA.
