DuBois Memorial Park has come a long way from its inception. It was once home to the City Barn which housed the incinerator for garbage. On May 28, 1956, City Council voted to close the incinerator; and on August 2, 1959, the City Pool was completed by the DuBois Jaycees. Oh, if they could just see it today! Since then, many features have been added to the Park: Three separate playgrounds, basketball courts, a softball and baseball field, concession stands, tennis courts, skate park, a walkway that loops under US 219, and a heated swimming pool with changing rooms. As if that isn’t enough, we also have two large pavilions with water and electricity and a very comfortable stage for benefits and concerts. It truly is a very busy place in the summer. We hope to see you there!
